This Privacy Policy explains how ALTERSIDE INTERACTIVE PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”) handles your personal data when you use the What2Cook mobile app and this website. By using What2Cook you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information

Your name and email address when you sign up with email, or the name and email on your Google account when you sign in with Google. We never receive your Google password.

Preferences and activity

Your chosen language, the three meals you pick, your daily dish selections and swap usage, your saved recipes, the searches you make and the recipes you view.

Device information for push notifications

If you allow push notifications, we store a device token and the platform (iOS or Android) so we can send them.

Feedback

Any message you send us through the in-app feedback screen.

Technical data

Our servers keep standard logs, such as IP address, time and requested address, to keep the service secure and working.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, payment details or health data.

How we use your information

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run What2Cook, under their own data-protection terms:

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account we delete your personal data within 30 days after verifying your request, apart from the limited records described on the delete account page.

Security

Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

What2Cook is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. To delete your account use our delete account page. For anything else, write to support@alterside.io. We aim to respond within 30 days.
